The DS2278 combines Zebra PRZM Intelligent Imaging with a long-life rechargeable battery and an intuitive point-and-shoot design. Workers can scan handheld, pair the scanner with a compatible Bluetooth host, or use the CR2278 presentation cradle for charging, host communication, storage, and hands-free operation.
The DS2278’s 640 × 480-pixel area imager, super-red illumination, and linear amber aiming pattern provide workers with a familiar scanning experience. Omnidirectional capture removes the need to align each barcode with a narrow scan line, while Zebra’s decoding technology supports effective reading of imperfect codes.
A 100% 13 mil UPC barcode has a published typical range of approximately 0.5 to 14.5 inches. Bluetooth Class 2 connectivity provides a stated line-of-sight range of up to 30 feet, allowing employees to work around a counter or station while remaining connected.
When wireless communication is temporarily unavailable, batch-mode capability can preserve captured data for later transmission. This helps maintain productivity when the operator briefly moves outside the available Bluetooth range.
