The Zebra DS8288-HC is a cordless healthcare barcode scanner for patient identification, medication administration, specimen tracking, pharmacy, admissions, and medical inventory workflows. Its 2-megapixel high-density imaging system reads challenging 1D and 2D barcodes on wristbands, medication packages, blood bags, specimens, medical devices, and electronic displays.

A disinfectant-ready healthcare housing, smooth surfaces, sealed inductive trigger, antimicrobial labels, and contactless charging support frequent cleaning. Bluetooth mobility, quiet feedback options, long battery runtime, and an optional fast-charging PowerCap help the scanner adapt to clinical workflows.

DS8288-HC Essential Features

  • Reads supported 1D, 2D, OCR, GS1 Digital Link, Digimarc, and SecurPharm data.
  • Uses a 1600 × 1200-pixel sensor with high-density focus.
  • Captures small Code 39 and Code 128 barcodes down to 3 mil.
